15 Easy Tips To Raise Healthy Kids
With everything that mom’s have to do, it is easy to forget that we are growing little beings. What our children put into their mouths, what they place on their skin and/or what they breathe into their lungs will make our kids strong or not. As mom, we have the power to help develop healthy kids, healthy children and a healthy husband.
10 Simple Tips to Raise Healthy Kids and Healthy Children
1. MAKE FRESH VEGETABLE JUICE:
To help raise healthy children, give your kids fresh carrot/vegetable juice and freshly juiced fruit juice every day. If you can do this once a week you are giving them a gift!

2. BAKE FROM SCRATCH WITHOUT USING SUGAR, BUTTER OR WHITE FLOUR
Baking delicious cookies, muffins, cakes, pancakes, waffles, and brownies is very healthy for children.
Use RAW honey
, coconut sugar
, pure maple syrup, date sugar, raw agave, Sucanat
, Rapadura, and molasses instead of using sugar; all of which are healthy for kids. Add whole grain flours like Quinoa flour, brown rice flour, oat flour, whole wheat flour, amaranth flour, coconut flour and others, in addition to adding brans and nuts.

3. COOK FROM SCRATCH versus buying processed foods. (It doesn’t take as long as you think!)
Moms’ are BUSY! However it doesn’t take as long as we think to cook something from scratch, versus buying processed foods and it is a lot more healthy for kids. For example, you buy a pancake mix and have to add eggs and milk. If you made it from scratch….it is just flour, eggs, milk and oil. You have not saved any time, but you have eliminated your kids from eating all of the chemicals that go into the processed food version.

4. USE A COMBINATION OF WHOLE WHEAT FLOURS (THERE ARE SEVERAL), BROWN RICE AND WHOLE WHEAT PASTA
If you want to make a change that is great for your family, use whole grain flours, oats and grains, pastas and rice, versus white breads, white flour, white rice and pasta made from white flour. Whole grains help children become full faster, without getting fat. They are full of vitamins, minerals, fiber and enzymes that is essential for proper development.

5. COOK WITH OIL INSTEAD OF BUTTER
Fry with olive oil versus butter and bake with canola, olive oil, or safflower oil. Avoiding butter is healthy for kids and for your entire family.

6. EAT MANY DIFFERENT COLORS OF FRUITS AND VEGGIES
Eat many different colors of fruits and vegetables every day. Your kids will be more likely to eat vegetables if you do it yourself.

7. EAT SALAD EVERY DAY WITH HOMEMADE DRESSING.
Adults assume that kids don’t like salad. Kids need fruits and vegetables so experiment with dressings and types of salads until you find one that your kids like.
8. FEED YOUR KIDS THE SAME NUTRIENT RICH FOODS THAT YOU EAT
Don’t feed your children all the unhealthy things that kids are “suppose to like” such as mac and cheese, hot dogs, fries, MacDonalds, crackers, sugar cereal, white bread, cookies, cake and American cheese. Kids are not given enough respect. Children will eat quality, healthy foods if you give them a chance and they don’t get a taste for junk food.
Children like healthy foods if they are given a chance. If a child is only fed salt and sugar laden food, that is all that will taste good to them.
9. INVEST MONEY IN BUYING ORGANIC FOOD FOR YOUR HEALTH
To help make your children turn into healthy adults, buy organic fruits, vegetables, milk, sour cream and cheese; versus buying a new car, or a bigger house. Organic food
is better for everyone in your family; even if you buy just the ‘dirty dozen.” If you can’t afford to buy organic, peel any conventional fruit that you can.
What is more important than raising healthy kids, being healthy yourself and helping your husband be healthy? What you eat has the biggest affect on future MORE than anything else does, yet so many people gladly spend money on a new car and eat fries instead.

10. USE NATURAL PRODUCTS TO CLEAN YOUR HOME.
To help ensure that you your kids have healthy lungs, use baking soda, vinegar and products that do not have chemicals in them.

11. PUT NATURAL PRODUCTS ON YOUR SKIN THAT DON”T HAVE DANGEROUS CHEMICALS
To maintain glowing skin that is not diseased, use sunscreens, soaps, and shampoos that are natural and chemical free, and avoid spraying things like “hairspray in the house.” Did you know that the FDA requires NO TESTING on all the bath and beauty products that we put on our skin every day. Your skin absorbs whatever you put on it into your body and there are no regulations? This is not healthy for kids or for anyone in your family.

12. HELP YOUR CHILDREN GET EXERCISE
Make sure that you and your children get plenty of exercise. Encourage them to move, play, jump, skip, run, hop and are physically active. Get them moving whatever you have to do!

13. TEACH YOUR KIDS TO WASH THEIR KIDS HANDS A LOT
Healthy kids wash their hands with soap and water many times throughout the day, versus using chemical sanitizers.
Washing hands is healthy for kids and helps them not get sick.
14. DRINK GOOD WATER AND A LOT OF IT EACH DAY
The water your kids drink is important. To have healthy kids, invest in a reverse osmosis water distiller for your home so that your family is drinking high quality water. Start your day off each morning by having you and your kids drink a big glass of water before you eat any food.
Healthy kids need to drink a lot of water. Try to avoid having them drink water from plastic bottles, and instead invest in stainless steel cups to go.
15. COOK AND STORE WITH GLASS INSTEAD OF PLASTIC AND DON’T BUY CANNED PRODUCTS
Avoid buying any canned products (due to BPA issues), and invest in products that do not use any plastic even if it says “BPA” free. Use stainless steel cups for your kids, metal forks versus plastic and store your food in glass containers.

Consumer Reports’ tested many different types of canned foods, including soups, juice, tuna, and green beans and almost all of the 19 name-brand foods contained the dangerous “BPA.” Even canned organic foods had BPA in it, sometimes no different than the non organic brands and the BPA chemical was even found in products that said they were “BPA-free.”
